Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators of Alabama

AMTEA members participated in a pre-session at the Alabama Council of Teachers of Mathematics (ACTM) annual conference in November 2016. During the pre-session, members discussed important issues (edTPA and the elementary mathematics specialist certification). A majority of time was spent discussing and compiling feedback for the Standards for Preparing Mathematics Teacher Educators. To follow up, AMTEA held a video conference on Monday, Feb. 27 to discuss issues related to the State Math Panel, things learned from the annual meeting of the Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators Conference, and findings about AMTEA survey administered in February. Notes from the meeting are posted at this link.
